Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor is the boxing bout that just won’t go away.

This time it’s the boxing legend who is adding more fuel to the fire. While appearing on ESPN’s “First Take,” Mayweather discussed the financials behind putting together a fight between he and the UFC champion.

“We tried to make the Conor McGregor fight. They know what my number is,” Mayweather said to ESPN. “My number was a guaranteed $100 million, that was my number. We’re the ‘A’ side and I don’t really know how much money Conor McGregor has made. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t even made $10 million in a MMA bout.”

McGregor earned a reported $3 million for his appearance at UFC 202 and likely much more from his historic fight at UFC 205.

Although Mayweather downplayed (and likely undersold) McGregor’s MMA earnings, the undefeated boxer is willing to let have McGregor take home a small chunk of the revenue gained.

“But we are willing to give him $15 million and then we can talk about splitting the percentage, the back end percentage on pay-per-view,” Mayweather said. “But of course, we’re the ‘A’ side. How can a guy talk about $20 or $30 million if he’s never made $8 or $9 million?”

The $15 million is quite different than the terms McGregor previously threw out. As with any superfight, money continues to be a major hurdle to overcome on getting a deal done.

However, it’s pretty evident Mayweather is willing to step out of retirement to face the MMA superstar in a boxing ring.

“I’m saying right here on this show, Conor McGregor keeps telling everybody he wants the fight — let’s make it happen,” Mayweather said.

This concludes chapter 50 in the ongoing saga of Mayweather vs. McGregor.
